I met with some fantastic people. It was an emotional evening. Those who won awards should be proud of themselves as they have done some amazing things for charity and for others in need.
I was lucky to meet Sangeeta Bhabra (Presenter on ITV News - Meridian) and Sascha Kindred OBE, a British swimmer who has competed in five Summer Paralympic Games, winning twelve medals.
I had my two seconds of fame on the news, which of course, I recorded! My kids loved seeing me on the telly!
Lastly I would like to pass on my personal thanks to 'Village Voices' & Medway Messenger for agreeing to publish an article about our fundraising trip. Also Beverley Thompson, my team partner for her contacts and hard work in networking to gain corporate sponsorship.
Sounds like a great event.. recognising people for the hard work and selfless acts...
