First post!!

WELCOME!

What can I say? I've spent a good 2+ hours trying to get a decent background picture of Mount Elgon on this blog. What a pain!

Anyway, let's start by telling you what this blog is going to be all about.

On the 2nd June, a team of people are fund raising for the charity Fields of Life, to build a school in Uganda. We as a team, will be climbing Mount Elgon, one of the highest mountains in Africa - this will be no picnic and it certainly won't be a holiday!

This blog will follow my partner and I prior, during and after the trip. I have no doubt, there will be pain, dehydration, acute mountain sickness (altitude), headaches, tiredness, blisters, pulled muscles and arguments! AND hopefully, elation that we have made it to the summit and success for building a school for the children of Uganda.

We are trying to raise as much money as possible and we are looking for corporate sponsorship, so we can also take your company logos to the top!
